Alan D. Khalfin
Alan D. Khalfin, Esq. is a founder and the managing attorney of Vaksman Khalfin, PC, where he leads the firm’s estate planning and personal injury practices. He manages teams of attorneys and professionals in both areas, directing legal strategy and guiding matters from initial evaluation through resolution.
In his estate planning practice, Alan advises individuals, families, trustees, executors, and beneficiaries on estate plans, trust administration, probate, and contested trust and estate matters. His experience with administration and disputes allows him to anticipate problems early and develop plans that work not only on paper, but when families and fiduciaries must rely on them.
Alan’s personal injury practice grew naturally from his broader civil litigation work and his experience managing complex, consequential matters. It draws on the same strengths that define his trusts and estates practice: identifying risk, developing strategy, and protecting clients when the stakes are personal.
Alan represents clients facing serious injuries and complex claims against insurers and other responsible parties. He builds each matter for leverage from the outset, developing the evidence, damages, and responses to anticipated defenses. He negotiates from a position of preparation and strength, and when an insurer refuses to resolve a claim fairly, he does not hesitate to pursue the case through trial.
Alan is a member of the San Mateo County Bar Association’s Estate Planning and Probate Panel and has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star every year since 2013. He earned his Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Alan lives in Danville with his wife and two children. Outside the office, he is an avid musician, a devoted Warriors fan, and a member of the Crystal Springs Uplands School Alumni Board.
