Robert B. Vaksman
Robert Vaksman, Esq. founded Vaksman Khalfin, PC more than two decades ago and leads the firm’s estate planning and personal injury practices. He has built and continues to lead teams of attorneys and professionals in both areas, combining sophisticated legal analysis with practical judgment and focused advocacy.
Robert’s estate planning practice draws on his background in law, taxation, and finance. He earned his law degree and Master of Laws in Taxation from New York University School of Law and is also a graduate of NYU’s Stern School of Business. He advises individuals and families on trusts, tax planning, asset protection, trust administration, and probate. His experience also includes contested trust and estate matters, allowing him to anticipate potential disputes and address them strategically when they arise.
Over time, families who trusted Robert to plan for the future also turned to him when serious injuries suddenly changed it. From those relationships, he built a personal injury practice focused on protecting clients whose health, livelihoods, and financial stability have been placed at risk.
Robert represents clients facing serious injuries and complex claims against insurers and other responsible parties. His experience with litigated and appellate matters informs his approach to case development and trial strategy. He works closely with medical providers and experts, evaluates the full extent of each client’s damages, and prepares every claim with the possibility of litigation in mind. His financial background also gives him a sophisticated understanding of the lasting economic impact an injury can have on an entire family.
Although the practice areas are distinct, both involve protecting people during consequential moments in their lives. Robert brings strategic judgment, careful preparation, and personal commitment to every matter.
Outside the office, Robert’s proudest roles are husband and father. He is married to Dr. Irena Vaksman, and together they have three sons whose competitions keep the family busy and Robert frequently on the sidelines. Charlie is a Division I rower at Princeton, Jack is a Division I diver at Yale, and Ethan, still in middle school, is already chasing his older brothers as a wrestler with the Stanford Wrestling Club.
